My iPhone 5 a1429 wont turn on after screen replacement
So here's the thing. I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. I opted to fix it and replaced the screen along with a new battery following the steps from here. Voila it worked. I was happy with it but then I noticed that the earpiece was not working. So I opened it up again, tried to fix any lose connections from the earpiece. Before closing it all up, I turned it on just to see if the screen was working. I know that was a bad call right then and there because I know that shorts can occur by doing that. The phone turned on, but the touch screen was not working. I tried to turn it off again but since the screen wasnt working, I was not able to. Looking back I should have just disconnected the battery but it didnt cross my mind during that moment. Now I reseated all the cables to the board, and noticed that the screen was working again. So I slid the screen back to its place, but the display showed blurry white lines, then turned off. I tried turning it on again to no avail.
Now the phone wont turn on, not charging or anything, no sounds or vibrations or anything that would prompt me that it is alive.
Now each time i plug it in, the front cam and the earpiece heats up extremely. I dont know what is wrong.
I disassembled the phone and reassembled it again. I tried re cycling the power by disconnecting the battery and draining all leftover power in the phone by holding the power button. I tried soft resetting it using the hold power and home method. It doesnt work.
So what do you guys think should I do? Buy another screen? Im just afraid that it wont work the way it should.
I am quite new at this and I dont have any experience tearing down phones.
Any answer would be appreciated. Cheers.
