Ports on right side have stopped working, SD Card and USB

The ports on the right side of my Early 2013 MBPr 15" have completely stopped working. After running a lot of diagnostics, I have determined that they are completely nonfunctional, in fact the computer doesn't even recognize that they exist. I work at a College Book store and we are an Apple certified retailer, so my boss has access to the official Apple Diagnostics and after running a full gambit, the ports are completely unrecognized.

I'm wondering two things...

1. Is there any possible fix for this issue, I assume it's a hardware issue.

2. Is there a replacement for the I/O ports on just one side of the computer?

Thank you,

Alec Wheeler

The right USB and SD card are on a separate board on this model, and can be replaced easily. There is also an I/O cable which runs along from this board to the main logic board, which could be causing the issue.

It is strange for all of these to just stop working, could be something related to the logic board, but I would say it is worth ordering the board and trying it out before spending lots of money on this (these boards cost about £20)

A. Put the SSD card in another machine and see if the issue persists.

B. Start up in safe Mode and see if the issue persists

C. Install and run an anti-virus

D. Send the machine in for a "Flat Rate Repair". Cost with shipping and tax will be about $357.

I mentioned in my post that the the diagnostic report doesn't even recognize the ports, so it has to be a hardware issue. Would the $357 cost cover it for sure? And who does these types of repairs?

Apple. Call 1-800-MYAPPLE and ask for a Flat Rate repair, they will overnight you a FEDEX box. Total time is four days. Shipping time included, first day call included. Have your serial number and credit card ready. This is available if it has not been dropped or gotten wet. It's called a depot Repair. In the USA they go to either Memphis or Houston overnight. FedEx will have a shipping box on your doorstep early the next morning. Just pack it up and drop it off before 4 PM.
