Touch ID not working after water damage

I got an iphone 6 with water damage.

I have changed a few parts and cleaned everything with isopropanol,

Everything is working except the Touch ID. The Home Button is working fine.

I have already changed the Flexcable against a new one, but it does not work.

What could be the problem?

Board issue, most likely fried MESA BOOST. This thing has 16.5 volts and is easily damaged during water intrusion.

Also check the area around the connector on the board.

What is the MESA BOOST? Is it one of the op-amps or amplifiers?

It's the DC booster that drives the metal ring around the home button. If there is no voltage, the button would not react to your finger even if the sensor chip starts and establishes link properly with the CPU (e.g. able to enter Touch ID setup, but does not react when you put a finger on). If the Touch ID setup fails altogether, then the chip is not starting and/or communicating with the CPU.

Where to find this ic? Is this attached on the logic board or inside the home button?

It's on the board, but i don't have the board layout of iphone 6.

What is mesa boost? Is it the backlight ic? Cause I have realized that my backlight is flickering

When you say "I got an iPhone...", do you mean you had it from before and it became water damaged, or do you mean you obtained it from somewhere?

If this is a phone you've obtained and you don't know the history of the phone, the home button could have been replaced. If not replaced by Apple, the fingerprint scanner won't work.

Also, you say you replaced the flex cable, but if you did that, then most certainly the fingerprint scanner won't work. It is chip matched to the CPU and can only be fixed by an apple technician.

Yes, I bought this phone with water damage. But the seller trust me, that he did nothing with this phone and I believe in this.

It is the original Home button and it is able to change the flex cable (under the metal shield of the display) to the board.

The touch I.D. was most likely ruined due to the water.
