I am trying to connect my Pulse speaker to my phone JBL app. I can play music through the speaker but not connect to the app so I was wondering how to restore the speaker to factory settings.

To reset the unit to factory setting:
1. Power on the unit by pressing the on/off button for about one second.
2. Press the "Vol - " button and the "Bluetooth" button together for more than 7
seconds.
3. The unit will display Red, Green, Blue light and go into power off stage, but with the
on/off light and the light symbol lighted up.
4. The unit is now reset to factory settings.
5. Switch the Pulse OFF by pressing the on/off button for about one second.
6. You can now turn your device back on and it will be reset to factory settings.

I did I followed your instructions and now it's flashing white and won't respond in any way
Is anybody out there my speaker won't respond after I did the factory reset all it will do is Flash White and won't shut off or turn on or do anything
I'm you, i did the factory reset then all flash light, all botton can not do anything. Please help.
Mine did the same thing. Cannot get it to do anything now. Help!?!?
This fixed my unit. I did have to connect the charger first to get it to power on though.

Hello Everyone,
My JBL Pulse 2 one day was unable to connect to Bluetooth devices and turned off randomly with a full charge. I tried the "Vol - " button and the "Bluetooth" workflow suggested above with no luck. I then turned to JBL support and they provided me with the follow steps that worked.
Please let me know if anyone else has similar results by using the below "was this answer helpful?" section. It doesn't seem like this reset workflow is not documented anywhere else.

hi i HAVE A JBL CHARGE 3 AND I PROOVE ANYTHING TO trying to fix it, and still dont going on. What i can do for fixing it? or i can update with my pc? because with the app i cant because my speaker doesnt turns on. Im sorry about my english i am from argentina
Thank you! My JBL Pulse 3 was playing music after I connected to my new phone and they were 2ft away from each other and the JBL began to skip. I was so sad because I love my JBL Pulse 3, your answer fixed my issue.

Also, it's April 2022... do NOT update the speaker firmware if you have a mac M1 chip... it probably will fail to play (but will connect). I've spent about half a day trying to get it to work - resetting speaker is the only option I could find. Cheers all!

Hi.. i have JBL onbeat awake bluetooth speaker.
It is shown UP 9 on display .
How to fix it ?

if you use JBL Pulse 2, Press + and Play buttons instade of - and bluetooth buttons.

My issue - Pulse 4 lights were on.
Solution - Press Volume + Power button until device switches off
