My camera won't turn on - Blinking dash on LCD

Hello guys.

I was using my camera when it suddenly it stopped working. I thought it was just the battery and didn't give much attention to it. I forgot it at a friend's house and only got it back a few months later and even after recharging the battery, it still didn't power on. I thought it could be a dead battery, so I bought a new one. Didn't work.

Battery charger seems to be working just fine (or the lights are, at least), but the camera simply won't turn on. When I try to turn it on, a small dash blinks once on the LCD, but no error message or anything. It just doesn't work.

Anyone knows what it could be? I couldn't find a single thing online. Any tips would be helpful.

Guys, had the same issue.

If it don't turn on, with the blanking flash, it probably means that you loaded the film pack is backwards.

Found this comment on Amazon, might be worth a try:

I had the same problem. I charged the battery till the light turned green, then loaded the film. The cover was ejected. Then all the mode symbols started flashing and I couldn't even take a photo. I tried various things e.g., removing the battery and cleaning the terminals, still didn't work. The ONE thing that did work was, turning the camera ON, while it is ON, remove the battery and leave it out for approximately 3 minutes. Then I put the battery back in, and it started working. While I was waiting for the 3 minutes, I also was pressing the back film cover in. Maybe the flashing means the camera thinks the cover is not closed??? Anyway, hope this helps someone with the same frustrating problem

Unfortunately it didn't help. The cover is not ejected and I can't even turn on the camera. It's just dead. But thanks anyway :/

unfortunately, not yet. but i did send it to a repair store. they said they never tried to fix an instax before but that they would try and i figured it wouldn't hurt. they are supposed to give me a call later this week, so we'll see..

Thanks to the original poster. I did the same remove-the-battery trick and it reset the camera!

I just got this camera , the battery is full charge but the camera will not turn on. Any solution?
