snapped off screw retainers on digitizer/lcd cover

I snapped off the middle screw retainer on the digitizer/lcd cover on an iPad mini 2. I was wondering first of all if it will affect anything. It doesn't seem to have any circuits or connections broken beneath it. Seems almost like it was glue under it. Second, can I use a special type of glue to place it back?

Thank you.

Updated your post with image. I'd take another screen shot further away to give others a more clear idea of where that is.

If you are talking about the four securing points on the sides of the lcd it should be fine with out one. If you are really wanting to try to patch it I wouldn't really recommending gluing it. Just secure the other three.

The shield that goes over where they connect to the logic board?

Its not a huge deal. The little pieces that attach to the logic board come off all the time. They aren't grounded or connected to the board in any way. They just kind (kinda) glued on.

It won't hurt anything if you are missing one.

Thank you very much. That is what i thought but since this is someone else's iPad i wanted to make sure before I put it back together. The original problem is the screen was frozen on the hello screen and would not recognize a touch on the digitizer. There are no cracks and the person I'm fixing it for said it wasn't dropped and there are no signs of any abuse. Took it apart made sure all the connections were good but still the same issue. I ordered a new digitizer to see if that is the problem. Hopefully it is.

Correct if no touch it could be bad digitize if previous repaired.

took it into local computer/tablet repair shop and they said thatchy cannot even get it to power up to check it out. Tech said he's pretty sure that the piece that broke off does in fact have something to do with it. Suggests new logic board. ; (

That's BS. I've glued tons of those back on with regular old super glue.

I don't see any caps or filters knocked off in that pic either.

I broke that part off too and my iPad hasn't turned on. Any suggestions?
