battery won't charge after replacing home button

I recently replaced the home button and the AC/PB cable. When I put it all back together, there were no problems and the phone was working fine. It had a good amount of battery too since I charged it before I did the repair. Later, the phone died and I plugged it in to charge, but after more than an hour it still wouldn't turn on. I unplug the charging cable and it shows me the dead battery image with the lightning connector indicator to charge the phone. When I plug in the cable, the connector image goes away (indicating that i plugged the phone in), but the battery remains uncharge on the screen for hours. I have tried different outlets and cables, but no luck. I even did a hard reset on the phone. iTunes recognized an iPhone 5 and restored it, I even saw the white screen with the Apple logo as it downloaded and updated. But after the reset, it went back to the dead battery screen.

Are there any signs of physical damage on the battery itself? Because the power button ribbon cable goes under the battery and sticks onto the iPhone 5's metal housing frame.

I don't see any damage to the battery and all the functions for the AC/PB ribbon cable were working after the repair.

There are a few small little components located right above the battery connector on the logic board, can you check to see if any of them are missing or damaged?
