What do I do with no home button?

Okay, so I've been having problems with my home button for a while.

First, I could see it was getting loose and sticking down a bit- thought it was no bit deal.

But a while ago, my home button fell out completely- at the park, no less, so I couldn't really retrieve it- and I wasn't sure what to do.

The home button fell out but only had the metal backing at first, the gold colored and silver colored things (I'm thirteen, don't blame me for not knowing the name) fell out as well- from my understanding, I think the home button or the metal backing held the two bits in place (I think?) , because even after the home button fell out, the two bits worked. Progressively, they got looser, falling out as well.

I'm just not quite sure what to do- luckily I can use multitasking gestures and all, but, what do I do if I want another home button?

Es esta una buena pregunta?

Probably worth mentioning I can't find a guide or anything on here, so if you could direct me there I guess that would also work- I mean, I found a guide for an iPad Air 2 home button, just not the original.

Reemplazo del ensamblaje del panel frontal del iPad Air LTE

iPad Air 1 home button replacement is pretty straight forward. Remove the digitizer and LCD. Part of removing those is disconnecting the home button ribbon cable. Make sure to note how the cable is ran, since its a little funky.

You can replace the home button assembly or the whole digitizer. Usually its worth the extra couple of bucks to buy a new digitizer with small parts installed. It will also be pre-glued, which will make putting it back together a lot easier. Either way, take your time and its a pretty basic job. Don't rush, it will only make things take longer.

Also: Do not use any metal tools when handling the digi or lcd connectors. Use a plastic tool to disconnect those.

If the assembly has fallen out you will need to replace it. This does mean getting under the glass of the ipad which can prove to be fatal for it if you have never done it before. Either you can take it to a repair shop or you can have a shot at it (I think a new digitizer is worth about $20 on ebay if you break yours) However, because this will be a new home button assembly the Touch ID will not work, and nor will it ever work again unless you have the original assembly that came with the iPad (which sounds like it fell out).

The Touch ID is on the iPad Air 2, with what they are explaining it sounds like the iPad Air. Don't go for the $20 screen get a good quality screen on Ifixit and use kapton on the edges to prevent ghost touching.
