Can't open it and it doesn't recognise my password

My Lenovo netbook won't work, I've only had it a month and been using about two weeks. It opened with a 1" gap on either side of the screen so I tried system restore but there isn't one. So I tried to open in safe mode now it won't recognise my password or email password. Local computer shop can't open it either. Can't access Lenovo support as they don't recognise the serial number. Oh and while I'm at it why is the warranty showing 265 days left when it's only a month old?
