iPhone 6 Plus says "searching" or "no service at the top.

I'm working on this phone and it appears that the only thing wrong with it is that it says "searching" or "no service" at the top. I have tried two working SIM cards and both do the same. At one point it had signal and worked, but as soon as I put the customers sim back in the phone it went back to saying "searching"

What I've done:

Reset network settings

Reset all settings

Checked for network update

Put in recovery mode and restored

Installed an antenna that I know works

Any ideas on what else it could be?

Check date and time. set it manually. then restart it

Setting it manually would take ages as it would be on the year 1969 or similar to that. Plugging it into iTunes should automatically fix up the time. You can also enable set date and time automatically in settings and connect to a Wi-Fi network to sync the date/time or you can use cellular data from a sim card with data enabled and working.

Does the phone still display an imei number in settings > general > about phone?

Date and time are correct, but just to make sure I synced it with iTunes. Yes the imei is still displayed.

Ok so here's where I'm at. Everything looks normal on the board. I don't have a microscope to check it out closer though. I put the SIM card in, turned it on, went to settings, and then phone. It asked if I wanted to update network settings so I clicked ok. When it did this it went from searching to no service, but never connected to a network. I reset network settings and when the phone came back on it said searching again so I removed the sim and put it back in. It went right to no service. What do you think?

What kind of repair have you done on the phone? Sounds like you might have messed up a component or two on the logic board. Take a good hard look around the antenna connector below the battery connector and see if anything looks scratched, damaged or missing.

All I've done to it is replace the antenna which I've done before. I'll open it back up and take a second look though.

Everything looks perfect.

Has the phone ever been dropped? Might be a cracked solder joint. Far fetched, I know, but issues like this are very seldom caused by a replaceable component breaking.
