Hi I changed my iPhone 6 screen with original home button still kept. The flex cable on the LCD tore so I replaced this but it still isn't working. Any idea why this is? I have checked the connection and it all looks perfect, no signs of damage. Cheers

Which flex cable exactly on the front display assembly tore?
This may be a dumb question but did you try turning the phone off and on and try the touch ID again?
It could be that the home button extension cable is damaged.

It is that cable that tore and I have already replaced it. I have tried resetting, restoring, updating, the lot
I just realised the item description says this:
'Please Note: Replacing the cable will cause the Touch ID sensor to stop working.'
So I think there is no way to get it working once you've replaced the home button extension cable. The only way to get it working as of now is if the original old home button extension cable was undamaged.
My understanding is that replacing the flex cable is fine but replacing the home button is not
You are right and sometimes the replacement parts are bad or the home button is badly seated or the home button connector is slightly damaged or the board connector is missing a filter next to it. In that order.
What do you mean by missing a filter?

And do you mean I'm right that changing the LCD flex won't affect Touch ID?

No it won't affect the Touch ID function.
Now the home button has stopped working when the phone is locked but works fine when it's unlocked. Any ideas?
