How do you get a DVD out if your Eject button is broken?

I have a DVD stuck in my computer. When I hit the eject button, nothing happens (in fact, the icon doesn't even appear on the screen). If I open DVD Player and hit "Eject", nothing happens and it says, "Supported Disk Not Available." It's completely in the computer, so I can't even pull it out with any sort of tool. Can anyone help?

Great answer! One addition: If you don't have a left click, hold down the trackpad button while booting.

"the icon doesn't even appear on the screen". Do you mean the Eject icon, or the icon of the disk on the desktop? From the context, I presume you mean the Eject icon?

The Eject button must be held down for a second or two in order to eject a disk; you can't just stab it.

That said, the disk might be stuck--is it a standard size disk?--or the drive could be defective. Have you tried al the suggested solutions yet, and has anything worked?

It would be helpful to know what model of Mac you have.

Thank you everyone!!! I just left it alone for a while, and the next time I opened the computer, it immediately booted up and started playing my DVD so I was able to use the Eject feature on DVD Player. And I am holding down the Eject button for an extended period of time, nothing happens. I probably won't be putting any more DVDs or CDs in the computer any time soon, just in case this happens again.

You can try holding option whilst booting, when the disc option comes up try to eject. If that doesn't work, you can try to knock it out by holding the macbook with the dvd slot facing the ground and then quickly moving the macbook up and down in a jerking motion ( this does work, just make sure you have a good grip ;) Good Luck

...quickly moving the macbook up and down in a jerking motion... when the hard drive is running could damage it. Not recommended.
