Removing wifi antenna from display

How can I remove the glass from the macbook display to get to the wifi antenna?

I have a 2014 MBP that is water damaged. The display and battery no longer work and I do not have the cash to repair it, so I decided to turn it into a desktop. The keyboard and trackpad work perfectly fine. But I *had* to remove the display, it will only allow me to work an external display if the lid is closed but will only power on if the lid is open.

So far I tried using 4 different external USB WiFi dongles but none of the drivers are compatible with El Capitan. I considered using a USB to Ethernet adapter but I would strongly prefer to use the stock wifi card and the original antenna

It is not possible without destroying the LCD, just replace the whole lid.

Or you can buy a spare cable/antenna assembly and just connect the antenna.

The logic board is damaged and will not put out video to the built in display or charge the battery, so it's fine if the LCD is destroyed.

Do I apply heat to melt the adhesive and peel the display out?

Why don't you sell the display? You don't need it anyway and it is stupid to wreck a working one.

The display doesn't work, I stated this in the original post. The backlight comes on and a small cluster of pixels light up and that's it

In that case you can keep the display and buy another set of antenna. Actually the display is not needed at all, just use a magnet to trigger the lid sensor.
