iPhone 5S: stuck in restore mode after screen break (error 4005)

Hello,

I accidently dropped my iPhone 5s and broke the lcd display (crack on the glass screen, and there is also a 'lake' of dead pixel on the lcd screen).

Now my iPhones displays the 'Connect to iTunes' logo, and iTunes asks me to restore the iPhone to make it usuable again.

The only problem is that it gets stuck during the restore process, at the 'Waiting for iPhone' part. After the 5 minutes wait, iTunes return a 4005 error.

The log file it generates is quite big, so here is the end of it:

[17:16:27.0855] Recovery mode device disconnected
[17:16:27.0855] Device removed when in state Restoring, moving device to transition state
[17:16:27.0855] Changing state from 'Restoring' to 'Transitioning'
[17:16:27.0855] Creating timer to monitor transition
 [17:21:27.0860] Restore completed, status:4005
[17:21:27.0860] Failure Description:
[17:21:27.0860] Depth:0 Error:Device disappeared during timed transition

I've tried several method I've been able to find on the web: restoring in DFU mode (simply generates even more log, but it won't get further than the usual restoration), unpluging the usb during the wait part (does not change anything), rebooting the phone during the wait part (iTunes returns a 4013 error, and the log says the phone is not in the correct mode), ...

I do not have a lot of experience in iPhone (this is my first one), so I don't really know if iTunes can cancel the restore because of a broken screen.

I've already checked the inside of the phone, checked the flex cables (which seem ok), the battery, ...

I doubt the GPU or the CPU are faulty, since I can clearly see the Apple and iTunes logo without any glitches on the screen (during the restore process).

My question is: Is the screen responsible of that error, or is there some specific and impossible to replace hardware piece dead in my phone? (like the NAND or the motherboard)

Thanks in advance.
