home button stuck after water damage

so i had recently dropped my iPhone into my hot tub and i pulled it out the second it touch the water. the phone was completely fine and worked for more than 20 minutes. then i had noticed the home button had been stuck as if it was being held down. i took an air compressor and used that in the accessories holes, but still didn't help..... any suggestions on how to fix it?

You will probably need to replace the home button as it probably has water damage on it.

Where to get the part:

iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Home Button Assembly

How to fix it:

Reemplazo y ensamblaje del botón de inicio de iPhone 6 Plus

You may want to clean the phone's logic board and connectors with some isopropyl alcohol to avoid the water damage causing more damage to the phone. I usually clean the front panel connectors, the charging port and the battery connector if I see any water damage on those areas.

Just be aware that after you will change the home button you will not be able to use Touch ID function. And next time. if it ever happens again... he first open it and disconnect the battery ( switch off is not enough)

Then follow Bens instructions - and let phone open just an hour or so and let the alcohol evaporate ( if you have Heat gun you can gently (low setting) heat a bit from the distance and save some time.
