Dsi XL not responding to anything

Hi Curtis,

When I get a nintendo handheld in with this problem, I start by checking the F1 or F2 fuses and inspecting the charge port. Since you're plugging it in and not getting the amber charge light, I'm immediately thinking charge port first. Here is my "plan of attack" when faced with no amber charge light:

1. Check the two port pins on the outside of the system where you plug the charger in from the wall. Over time and constant use, those two pins will "wear down" and literally get pushed down until they're not making any contact. One indication of this is that when plugging the charger in, it'll be loose or even fall out. To fix that, simply get a pair or very fine tweezers out and pull the pins back up. This will make proper contact to the charger. If this isn't the case...
2. Check if your charge port has lifted from the motherboard. Sometimes the assembly line doesn't get enough solder on the pins/pads and they easily lift off if the system overheats or from the impact of falling of some manner. If this doesn't work either...
3. Get out the multimeter on continuity mode and start checking the F1/2 Fuses to see if they're faulty or not. When running the meter, you want a result of zero to ensure they're functioning properly.
