Other people have asked this question and it seems like all are dual voltage.

If you're really worried about it, you can always try taking it apart to double check. PS3 Guides

Thank you for the reply. I saw quite a few threads for PS3's from US to other parts of the world. My condition is exactly opposite. I know it should not matter but just wanted to be double sure before I try this. (PS3 costs around $400 in India:))

PS3 Slim teardown See step 12. 100V to 240V AC. Sorry I wish I could be of better help, but I can't find anything that suggests Indian PS3's have different specs.

In India basically the PS3's are imported from UK as the voltage ratings are same between India and UK. So that means the PS3 is as good as bought in UK.

Oh, well ok then! It says that its specs are: AC 220 - 240 V, 50 / 60 Hz. But people elsewhere keep confirming that its actually universal. You will however need to use HDMI since you're moving from PAL to NTSC. Source 1 Source 2

Wow its true. The PS3 power supply is universal. I went home and with all the courage I had, I directly plugged in the PS3 to the outlet and it worked like a charm. I can 100% assure that it works. Funny thing is yesterday, I called SONY customer support person and he told me not to use India PS3 in US as it would fry the power supply and instead buy a new PS3. I guess that is the SONY marketing strategy to sell more PS3s :)

I too have the old fat model of PS3 which I purchased in US. I was scared to plug it in directly to Indian 240V, so I used a step down transformer. The PS3 started with the red light on. I pressed the button to start, the green light just stayed on for a second and turned to red again. After reading and researching a lot on the forums and blogs, I plugged in the PS3 cable directly into the 240V power outlet, said a little prayer. It works fine!!! NO VOLTAGE CONVERTER REQUIRED FOR PS3!!! CONFIRMED!!

What about the model - cech 4301c? I purchased this PS3 SuperSlim model for Thanksgiving in US. It says the same - 120V 60Hz on the port and book. Can i connect to 230V India w/o step down transformer?

Yes, you sure can "the power supply is designed for inputs ranging from 100V to 240V AC, making it usable across the globe."
