Why is there a purple dot on all of my pictures?

Hey, I get a purple dot in every picture I take on my 5s. It's more noticeable on some pictures than it is on others but it's always there. I have a lot of experience fixing 5c and it's very similar to the 5s (I've taken off my own screen once). So I need to know, is it an issue with a dirty lens or the glass inside, a camera problem or a motherboard problem? Because I've read online of other people having the same issue but no one has listed the cause. I can replace the camera (they're $5 on eBay) or clean the glass/lens but if it's a motherboard issue then I might as well buy a new phone cause motherboards are expensive. Can you guys help me? Here is a link to some pictures I took: https://www.flickr.com/gp/131037344@N06/...

It does not look like a camera sensor or processing problem, but it does look like a tiny speck of dust on the sensor or the lens. Since the camera sensor on smartphones is really small and has a lot of depth of field (compared to the sensor in a "real" camera) the tiniest speck of dust on the sensor or the lens will be immediately visible.

How would I go about cleaning it?

First of all, you'd need an environment a close as possible to a "clean room", otherwise it's near impossible to avoid further contamination. Taking a shower just before doing this kind of job helps, covering your hair is also a good idea: shed skin flakes is one of the most common causes of dust problems. Lint from clothing is another. Do everything possible to avoid shedding dust while you do this job.

You can use a lint-free wipe moistened with pure isopropyl alcohol to clean the sensor and the lens. Both the isopropyl and special lint-free wipes for delicate cleaning operations are available from a variety of sources.

The faster way would be to swap the camera out completely. They don't cost very much at all (make sure you get a genuine replacement). In fact it may be a similar price if you don't already own all the items listed in the answer above (isopropyl alcohol) There are a total of 8 screws you would need to remove to do this, including the pentalobe screws which don't really count.

This is a complete guide to do the fix, just make sure you put the correct screws back in the corresponding holes and don't over tighten them!

This is CMOS sensor internal damage, probably caused by laser or direct sunlight. You should replace the main camera module.
