Screen replacement 42mm sport
I broken my Apple Watch screen and I'm trying to find a company to buy one intere already assembled display.. and now that I think that I found one, the company is telling me that if I'm not a professional I will have problems with the touch screen... because replacing it I will need to replace the old IC (that I don't know what's that is!) and some software to rewrite some new data (refurbish iOS again)...
I'm mean, seriously?? :-o
So, my questions are: is that true? Isn't it like a normal iPhone screen replacement? And, is $128 AUD a good price?
Ps, would be possible put a Sapphire instead X-ion?
I thank you so much for your help and your amazing website!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Have a nice day,
Fabio

Hi! Thanks to the quick reply!
Well.. I said original.. but thinking better are just from China.. I can't know the truth..
Anyway, I took the glass off already, and cleaned up as carefully I could.. and everything looks fine..
So.. you think I don't need any software? Why they told me about "integrated circuits"? Which one they talking about?..
Sorry but I got confused now...

Sometimes companies like to scare away hobbyist and that's how they do it by telling you something so broad but yet geeky to turn you away and when I put the new screen on an apple watch I didn't have to have any new software. I just put it back together with adhesive strips and it worked I have no idea what integrated circuits those tech guys were talking about. I just followed the ifixit guide and had no issues with anything including software everything worked. If you have any problems with the apple watch not working after you put it back together you should post the new problem on the ifixit forum of what is not working on the watch because I am sure somebody can help you more than I can in that category. I hope this cleared things up. My side note is that I have reason to belive the company was trying to scare you out of doing the repair yourself.
