Apparently, there are two speakers because I can hear just fine when speaking to a caller. The problem is the phone doesn't make any noise at all so if I'm not reading my book on it, therefore holding it in my hand, I have no idea when someone is calling me or texting. I usually Bluetooth to my big speaker when I'm at home but the phone is about worthless to me if I'm anywhere else.

You will need to replace your loudspeaker, could be just loose connection, but you need to open the phone and see if you could replace the part.
