Thank You BC . It worked for my tablet Asus K010. Issue: Touchscreen was not responsive and unable to unlock the screen once ON.

Steps Tried : Followed recovery option and tried to reconfigure tablet and found again touch screen not responsive.

Finally tried BC steps , to open case and unplug/replug battery cable and touch screen been responsive after reboot.

Thanks Again . Puru -Sydney.

Thank you BC i did it as well , there is also a Youtube video how to do it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCGkshgs...

Now next step is to find out how to empty the charge buildup that makes screen unresponsive so that i do not have to open it every time screen gets unresponsive ...

There are several instruction video's on youtube. The instructions for firmware reset are valid for all Asus tablets. The instructions for opening different types of transfomer tablets are not, each model needs its own approach! I believe that in most cases the connector from the touchscreen flatcable to the main PCB is the main culprit. it takes an opened tablet, then release the connector lock, push the flatcable firmly in its socket and close the lock. But opening the tablet is risky business. Drain batteries to reduce fire risk! Use blunt objects like credit cards or guitar picks to slide around the edges. Stay close to the edge, sticking any object deep into the tablet while removing the screen from the back is a sure way to disaster. If you're not expeienced in these matters, a repair shop is a wise visit

Hi Maggy would you point me to the right into which is the right flat cable that must be re-set because i have seen some videos on how to do that but on the asus mother board there are at least 7 flat cables, so i would like to give it a try, before taking it to a repair shop. Because from time to time the touch does work but all of the sudden it stops. I have tried rebooting, factory restore, but it seems like that is not the problem. so i would appreciate the guidance.

They are numbered CN1 and CN2 near the micro USB connector. Success

maggy depending on what kind of tablet you have you might have to forse reboot just trying to help you out so what is the isssue with your tablet depending on the issue you may have to back up and reset and data will be lost after reset that is how some computers work sorry if your data gets lost don't know how to back up data not a computer export.

Hi Bob

Have you tried to reset to factory settings? You are going to lose all your data after reset.

If this doesn't help then it is the actual digitizer. I have one of them before and there was nothing visible to be wrong but when i open it i saw the cable for the digitizer was somehow ripped off. I have no idea why probably too much heat near the cable or something else i don't know. But after I replace the digitizer all works great. Now my dad is using it so happy days.

Hope this help
