No sim card problem

Hi all,

My nexus one obstinately refuses to recognize the sim card that I insert in it. It is not sim-locked, as no unlock code is asked. Instead, the usual message appears: "no sim card, emergency calls only". Well, I guess the sim card tray is dead, unless you have other explanations..? There is a good Ifixit tutorial to replace the sim card tray, but I have been unable to find where I could by the part.

Any idea?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, Have you tried the SIM card in another device to see if it works? Have you tried another known working SIM card in your device to see if it works in it?

Hi,

Have found these which may be what you are after. You may be able to find more

I am not recommending either seller, either way, just pointing out where there are parts.

p.s Take notice of the positive feedback % of the seller in the second link. Personally I prefer it to be above 99.5% but that's just me.

Hopefully this is of some help.

Thanks a lot! Do you think that the two products are identical, apart of the feedbacks of the sellers? I mean, on the first link the sim reader is provided with kind of a connecting film that is not in the second link. Do you think it has its importance?

Hi gabstet,

I think that anything that is in the phone is there for a purpose. The makers don't waste money on having unnecessary things installed.

There should already be a connecting film covering the old SIM card tray in your Nexus one. You should be able to re use it for the new one. Also the first link is a 'used' SIM card tray while the second link is 'new'. Being used might mean that there may be issues later on but who can tell. That will be your decision which is the better way to go.

Allright, once more thank you for your wise advices! I will tell you if if has worked at the end!

Hi gabstet ,

Good luck
