I recently replaced my beloved 2009 Beetle that was totaled in an accident. The replacement looks similar but there are a few differences. The biggest one being that I can now hear all the gravel hitting the wheel wells as I drive. Did my first Baby Blue have something that dampered the sound or protected the wheel well?

There are several reasons for the difference first are the inner fender wells in correctly the shocks could be softer in your old car, tire compound could be different ,are your rims steal or aluminum and where they the opposite on the old car, was the mileage higher on the new one or old ,is the car undercoated was the old one ? All of these things can cause differnt sounds. Just because there the same make and model doesnt mean there the same car Hope this helps
