Why does my laptop lose WiFi network

I've got a new Asus X302LJ-RT4101 a week ago, and it works great, but... After some time (random, never the same amount), the laptop loses ALL the wifi networks, it just says No Network is available. Disabling and re-enabling the wifi adapter fixes this, but that's just a "band-aid", not an actual fix. I don't move it, so it's not out of range, it just decides to... stop working I guess. Does anyone have experience with this and know what could help?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Have you got the latest Asus Broadcom drivers installed?

Here is a link. Don't forget to select the correct OS

Hi Ivan,

Don't know what you have in your laptop, but have read if you have Asus Wireless Console 3 to either disable it or uninstall it as it conflicts with Win10 for some users.

It came from this site.

After this happened the 1st time, I check the "Update Driver" from Device Manager, and it said I already had the "best" driver installed for my device.

I have disabled "Allow computer to turn off this device to save battery" from the Power Management tab, and haven't seen it happen for some time, but it started again.

I downloaded the latest driver and installed it now, I will use the laptop for some time and see what happens.

Honestly, I don't want to go through warranty and all that if it's just a software problem.

I'll keep you updated, and if someone had this same problem, please post about it.

Thanks for your ideas.

I would personally just return it for a replacement if you can deal with the hassle, since the warranty usually would cover an issue like this.

I probably will, but I wanted to check if I can do something to just fix it myself, I'm pretty sure it's a software issue and not a hardware one, since it obviously works most of the time.

The OS on it is a Windows 10 64bit, and the wireless adapter is a Broadcom one.

Over the last 20 minutes, I lost the connection twice, but not in the same fashion. These two times, it just disconnected, still showing connections are available, and I just connect back to my network.

I guess I'll be taking it back to get my warranty, this really isn't going well...

Yes you could try installing an older driver version but it honestly probably isn't worth it, especially if something is actually wrong with the WiFi card itself.
