It is supposed to enter sleep mode when closed at front but not when folded back.
I've had this problem once before and managed to solve it by simply testing a lot of different screens until the flip cover only turned the screen off when closed at the front, but I would like to know why this problem occurs and how to fix it properly.

Solved!
Insulated the home button flex on both sides (under and over) with insulating tape.
