Until El Capitan, OS X 10.11.

Apple is having problems with some unspecified Bluetooth problems. With lingering problems after their latest update that addressed Bluetooth problems. Perhaps they will fix it over time?

For all other operating systems just follow the manual instructions that came with that mighty little speaker. My JamBox worked fine for years, until the micro usb connector came loose then broke.

Depending on your device you may be prompted to enter a pairing code. If prompted enter “0000” as the code.

Press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button for 5 seconds to activate pairing mode.

could need to re-wire it from the inside, my JAM broke and i re-wired it an now its working again

I'm sorry I think your in the wrong section, or not.

please read my answer above too, if your using Mac's 2 latest operating systems. Yosemite & El Capitan, they are working on some bugs.

Do you have a power light come on? It's red, and blue if bluetooth is working from your unit.

Are you sure your Batterie is charged?

Battery is dead..... the usb charge juice power is not equivalemt to the supperior 1000mah batt and it's current so it will self shutdown from lack of power on a high volume...
