Why does my desktop backround look like a file explorer

You may try the following;

>> Go to task manager. (Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete)

>> In the Process tab, look for Windows Explorer.

>> Right click on Windows Explorer and select Restart.

This should reset your desktop back to normal.

This tool was released by the WindowsClub and can be downloaded from here. Once you have it on your computer, unzip it and run its main executable as admin (Right click -> Run as administrator).

Once the application is open, select the folder for which you want to remove the background image. Then, click on "Remove Background Image".
