Water damaged iPhone 3GS to whitescreeen. Mystery reaction.

First, I know it's an old iPhone and I already got a new one. I'm just trying to fix it, like a mystery solving.

Situation:

  1. Jailbroken
  1. Power Button broken for a long time. Can't get to recovery mode unless using redsn0wsteps
  1. Later got water damaged, couldn't turn off then screen faded.

After drying: Screen would light up to apple logo at most.

  1. Replaced with new connector dock and battery.

Weird reaction: iphone tries to boot when connected to a power source ( laptop or wall) but will never get pass apple logo. Reboot loop.

When disconnected: it will actually pass the apple logo and I can actually unlock the device. I could see the device is no more jailbroken since some tweaks were off. Can last only for max 15 seconds before going back to restart loop. Battery was hardly charging to 7% max.

  1. Decided to soak the logic board in Isopropyl alcohol. ( I didn't see any corrosion so I didn't bother until now). Thought it was working when I actually saw some dirt and a pink liquid come out. Let it dry till morning.
  1. Today:

Screen all black. No sign of life when plugged.

Decided to leave it plugged to the wall for the day since I had to go to school.

When I came back, it had white screen of death. ( white screen would stay lit all the time even plugged). Discover the battery is almost full via Itunes.

Tried couple of things.

  • restoring
  • going to recovery mode(with no power button, using redsn0w) then restoring.
  • double tap with 3 fingers.

Still no change : black screen all the time or turning white when unplugged after 2-3 mins.

Finally decided to write the question...

Just hope this doesn't waste the time of anyone.

I think the best solution would be changing the logic board but it won't be worth it.

Thx in advance for replies.
