Hi Tim!
This tablet runs on Android version 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean), which appears to have some issues with the camera application. If your camera application crashes, this thread suggests that one possible fix is:
- Uninstall the "Google+" application
- Clear the program data and Cache of the "Camera" and "Gallery" applications
- Hit <enter> to insert another list item, and <enter> twice in a row to end the list. To get subitems, repeat the bullet character once for each level of indent you want (e.g. **)Follow the "Clear cached data for specific apps" section of This guide.
- Restart your device
If your camera application works, but only shows a black image when trying to take pictures, your camera module may have failed. Following our Camera Replacement Guide should make replacing your camera module a bit easier.
Please note that the forward-facing camera and the rear-facing cameras are both contained in one module, so if either one has failed, you'll have to replace both.
