washer won't drain, spin, or rinse, but it fills and agitates

washer fills with water and agitates but will not go to next step, draining, spinning, and rinsing. I have never had any problem of any kind with this machine. I just did a load 2 days ago, there was no different sound and laundry came out great.

It is a Kenmore 110 series top load. I hope you can help me.!! It is Saturday and I have a load sitting in water.!

barry, it is possible that you have defective lid switch. If so, the washer will not spin or pump the water out. The other things that can cause this is a defective or clogged drain pump. We would need a the model and serial number to give you more detailed instructions.

It was the lid switch, I was able to get it to work till I can go to the store on Monday. My clothes are now in the dryer.
