After updating my laptop the cd/DVD drive would not work. I done a factory reset to original . The cd/DVD drive still won't work and is not listed in device manager. How can I fix it or do I need to replace the drive?

If you can, remove the bottom cover by undoing the Phillips head screws with a PH0 size bit. Using a flathead screwdriver, pry the bottom case off from the clips. Remove the optical drive and reseat it. Does it work now? (Remember, when removing SATA data and compressed optical power, be careful with the connector, as it is fragile.) Hope this helps.
