My phone isnt switching back on

My phone battery had drained 5 hours back when i was out, I came back and connected it to a charger. The usual screen that appears in this situation didnt come up. I left it to charge for about 2hrs and pressed the power button and held it for more than 30 seconds. The screen did not light up. I removed the battery, kept it out for a couple of minutes, put the battery back, and did the same pressing of the power button again. I put the phone back for charging of an other hour and tried again. It didnt work, tried the whole process again it didnt turn on. I even checked the port I put the charger into, by plugging the light cord in, the light turned on so no problem with the power point. Please help
