Not charging during/after screen replacement!

So i broke my screen again, clumsy me.

This wasn't initially worrying as I've replaced my screen before. I've even replaced phone screens for my relatives so this inst my first rodeo

However this time i pulled my phone apart and was met with immense difficulty as i had to re-seat the connectors hundreds of times to get a clear screen but setting that aside

My phone wont charge or hold a charge...i think?

See i had no battery/charge issues prior to attempting said repair and never had any in the past.

When the phone is on and the cable is plugged in i can hear the charge sound go on and go off every 15 seconds or so and it just keeps happening! I can verify the phones on because when i receive texts and the little teeter vibrates but when i switch between sound and mute it wont vibrate which is unusual

I can't use the screen to aid me because I've taken apart the phone and i'm back to resenting the connectors thousands of times for an image.

Any ideas?
