No, they are simply incompatible with all the rest of the parts.

I've tried this too. The main problem you will encounter even if you swap out all the other parts is that the camera module from the 3GS will simply not fit in the cutout in the 3G, making it then impossible to put the screen back in.

the dock connector also has an extra connector (no7) for the antenna which is not on the 3gs motherboard!

ammar, are you asking if it fits? No, it does not.
You'd also need 3GS plate for camera, 3GS battery, dock, LCD and digitiser. The only parts that will work are headphone/mute/power switchs and of course the back. Seems like a lot of costs...
On a side note,
Is it possible to take a front bezel, LCD, digitizer, battery, camera and logic board from a 3G and install it into a 3GS back bezel with everything else in the backing from the 3GS ÉÉÉ

Yes, only parts cross compatible are the back and power connector. You'll also need to lift out camera housings... It's just double sided tape and should lift with a fingernail etc
