Won't boot, keeps flashing boot logo

So, I have a Samsung SM-T230NU. When I tried to power it on, it flashed for a split second the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 logo and then went blank. I figured it was out of juice, so I plugged it in and let it charge for an hour or so.

When I came back, it was flashing and going dark.

I tried a different cable. As soon as power was applied, it flashed and went dark again.

Now, the boot logo is showing for an even briefer amount of time.

I am suspecting the battery or USB port. I don't have parts readily available to swap, however.

Any ideas?

It may be worth adding, when I plug in the device, without touching any buttons, the screen starts flashing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 boot logo.

I would guess a stuck power button, but the power button travels freely.

When I unplug the tablet from the computer, the flashing stops.

BE sure your using the samsung charger. If the battery doesn't have enough juice to power up and it takes a samsung charger to recharge it when its that dead. I didn't believe it when I heard that but its true.

I had the same problem. Then I changed the charger. Problem solved.

You can try press the power on button and the volume up button for a count of 5 and release and then press both in again. This often happens after a firmware update.

hope this helps

Mine did this, but plugging it into another charger seems to have resolved the problem. It appears that if the tablet is dead and plugged in, it can charge for a short time and start the boot sequence -- if the charger cannot supply enough current for the running device the boot sequence aborts and the cycle starts over again. The power & volume up combination has no effect because the boot loader is invoked and it aborts like the normal boot sequence. So, find a charger that can supply enough current, it should then boot, then shut it down to charge properly.

Caution, the tablet should never reach a usable charge while cycling on and off. I would expect prolonged cycling to dramatically reduce battery life as well.

I have one right now doing the same thing - the customer thought it might be the charging port. It was a dead stick, so I put the tablet on a good Samsung 2.0amp charger and after about a day I started getting this flashing I have a battery one order and will test it out once it arrives.

Update - replacing the Charging port worked - I used my heat gun on high with a little flux to pop the old one off, just did the same in reverse to replace it.

Worked after holding the volume down and home key in case of galaxy c9pro

Here's what's worked for me in the past. Take the back off with a credit card (carefully) then unplug the connector to the battery for 5 minutes. Re-seat the connector and attempt charging the device.

With which mobile model? I have a C9 Pro that is stuck on a lightning sign inside a circle. Tried pressing home + power + button down like hard reset and it brings me to a blue screen that says 'A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications.'... Volume up to continue, volume down to cancel. Did cancel two times - nothing happened. Frustrated.
