Why is my iPhone 5s not charging after two dock replacements?

My iPhone 5s will not charge, headphone jack doesn't work, and touch id sensor won't work. I am an experienced technician, and nothing like this has ever happened to me. This all happened after I did a complete housing replacement. After I completed the replacement, I realized none of these components worked and ordered a new dock flex. The new flex did not work either. The phone does not charge, but recognizes when it is being plugged in. Please help, thanks!

put it back in the originally housing..if problem is solved then it's something shorting on the new housing as Jimfixer says. It's not unusual to have new parts cause all sorts of problems...

I have the same problem with my iPhone. Also the microphone during phone calls is not working. Already replaced the home button and the dock connector. Still the same problem.

Also looking for an answer here.

Did you happen to fix this issue? I recently acquired the same issue. Although, I didn't take my iPhone apart when the issue started. It was plugged in, but depleting. When it died while plugged in, I unplugged it and tried a different charger. Nothing. Not even the battery showing it was charging. This happened with 3-5 chargers I tried. I swapped batteries with my old one (the new ones a little over a year) and got the battery to come up on the screen. I unplugged it to bring it with me in th car and, what do you know, nothing again. I put my wife's battery in my 5s (a few months old) and still nothing. This battery was charged 77% at the time. However, when I put it back in my wife's phone, it did nothing as well until I plugged it in to the charger. Starting to wonder if the iPhone stores some sort of memory from the last battery? At this point, I was already in the iPhone for a few hours so I didn't even attempt to retry her battery. Maybe I'll try today.

Did you get all your insulation strips back in place. Sounds a lot like its shorting out on the housing

The screen that tells me to charge comes up when i plug in the phone, it just doesn't charge it. Also, when the phone was still charged, a message kept coming up that said, "This Cable is Not Certified and May Not Work Reliably".

have you tried another cable?

- de

Yes, i tried the original and the new one i just bought.

when you pulled the screen to begin with did the cable connecting the Touch ID come off or remain intact .if you damaged this cable it would affect most of your issues

Get under your microscope and find the board components you've damaged. I'd start looking around the stud screws (the ones you use a flat head to remove) around the dock and battery connector first. I would think this is unlikely a ground issue.
