Can I retain the home button for my ipad mini 3

Hi,

My ipad screen got cracked and i want replace it . I want to know if the screen can be replaced without replacing the home button because of its fingerprint recognition. Most repairers in my country wont tell me the risk involve before doing it so i want to find out before taking it out for repair.

Yes, the home button can be removed from the broken screen and transferred to the new one. I replaced an iPad Mini 3 screen recently, and successfully transferred the button.

thanks . Ifixit made me realize that the touchID feature only works with the home button that came with the ipad originally that's why i asked
