I bought this macbook (Pro 2.16 17" Core Duo A1151) 2nd hand.
There is no chime and no screen, only the power led goes on and off.
Can somebody help my ?

try take out the ram and put just on stick on the first slot.

Reset PRAM and SMC. There are several manuals around explaining how to do it for your exact model of macbook.

Which LED? Charger? or the one on the front?

the front light is the HDD activity light I believe.
Have you removed all peripherals and tried to boot?
Also try a SMC bypass. Hold the power button while plugging in the charger then press the power button again.
