Can I use a 2006 MacBook LCD in a 2008 MacBook?

They have 2 different types on inverter cables. If I get the newer Inverter cable, is this conversion possible? Is it a matter of plugging in the new cable, or do I need a newer inverter board as well?

I had a 2006 macbook where the graphics card took a dump. I found a newer logic board with the case bottom on eBay so I bought it. I didn't realize that the inverter cables were different until I went to install the display.

Thanks in advance!

Hey TR, the MacBook model A1181 LCDs for 2006, 2007, 2008 are interchangable. It will work but the difference consists of the frame and the core duo models have three airport antennas.

I see where you are coming from, but on Apple's support site, both computers have the same size display with the same resolution. The only difference that I see is the graphics cards have different specs.

Thanks for the quick answer, but your answer doesn't give me an exact reason why it can't be done.

Sorry, I was thinking about a different model when I was answering. Please look at the edit again. Ignore what I said last time.

The display has the old airport cables attached to it, so I'm going to try it out and will replace the airport card if it doesn't work,
