i have macbook pro unibody 2009 with yosemite as an os,I tunes is unresponsive I tried the usual methods to quit unable to do so,kindly explain how to sort ou this issue thank you narayanan lakshmanan india

In the upper left go to "GO -> UTILITY -> ACTIVITY MONITOR" then in the search put itunes then highlight it and click the white x in the black circle in the upper left corner, a popup will come up and choose force quit. This should work if it doesn't then you need to shut down and restart your computer

I had to shut down the on button and restart is it an indication that there is an issue in the hard disc or please explain why should it happen if possible please explain how to avoid this in future tank you narayanan lakshmanan india
