Lines on screen after front replacement.

Hi all. Long story short here, I had my iPad Mini glass replaced recently by a local repair shop (not advised I know but they were cheaper, recommended and quicker).

Before the repair there were no issues with the digitizer, i.e. display was fine and touch features working perfectly. Only a small crack on the side of the screen.

Had it back from the repair shop and it was fine but less than 24 hours later (the first time i picked it up after leaving the shop) there were random lines flickering on the screen and now there are just what can best be described as columns of faded areas running top to bottom perfectly in line with the app icons. To me this suggests that maybe the glass is too tight against the digitizer and pressing on it or a lose connection?

The shop have completely washed their hands of it and said it's not their fault but my thinking is if somehow I can prove it is due to the whole thing being put back together in a faulty way then maybe I can at least get a refund from them? Any ideas how I could do that?
