Will turn on but won't charge

for my speaker the charging piece had fallen out and now I have no way to charge it is there another way that I could charge it?

HELP!! My pill will charge but wont power on! It will only work while it is plugged into a power source! What could I replace to make it new again???

- de

Welp... it may be the charging port (don't know what its actually called) on the motherboard my friend. The metal piece on the charging port broke off for me, and I had to re-sodder it back on so that it would charge once connected via USB Cord.

At first, I tried wrapping the cord around the BeatsPill, and if angled correctly it would charge. That was the beginning of the end because eventually it broke off.

Check your charger first. If it has the right voltage, you might want to see if internal connections are all in place and that the power jack is firmly in place.

Let me hear of your results.

(it is not recommended but a common practice to suck on the power jack (if under 12 V) to see if it has current if you have no measuring tool. f it does, you should feel a tingling sensation on you tongue, much like as with licking a battery just a lot stronger depending on voltage)

I got a broken one from a friend. It was missing charge port and pads. So I ran a usb cable to the trace points. Plugged it in. No less. Not turning on…getting 5 volts at the battery and getting voltages within range on the main board too. Gonna try the reset:

  1. Hold down the power button for 8 seconds, then let go.
  2. Press the power button once. The Fuel Gauge flashes white to red 3 times.
  3. Your device is now reset.

Should that fail I suppose I'll take the speakers and hook up another bluetooth speaker to make custom one.

I had the same problem and purchased a USB port repair kit from this seller. It worked like a charm.

Battery shows 127% on mine and it will not power on unless plugged in. This leads me to think the micro usb charger port is loose and the voltage is feeding back into the pc to show 127% this may make some sense as it would require x voltage to run the speaker and y voltage to charge the battery and run the speaker - this may well = 127% of charge - any thoughts?

Hello there is just got a problem whit the charging port it replaced connected to charger Not charge. I conect to computer battery show 127% of charge and it won't take any charge

And the reason is because the battery is drained below zero and it won't take any power.

How to fix it ..

Disconnect the battery and tap the red and black cables whit another battery positive whit positive and negative whit negative a little spark will show do that 5 times then conect the charger..

I will try to post some pictures later

It sounds like the battery is either bad or came disconnected or possibly another cable between where the USB port is and the battery is loose. Check all cables and clips and make sure everything is seated correctly. Also take note of the shape of the battery. If it looks puffy and bloated it is going bad or is bad and is unsafe. If you smell anything funny coming from the battery it is Li-Ion gasses and another sign you need a new battery.

Good luck.

I have had this problem as well, if you haven't tried this yet try to take apart the beats pill and reset the battery by disconnecting it, it will work almost every time unless your beats pill has a short in it somewhere.

I bought one of these broken from eBay a while ago. The problem was that one of the battery cells was bad. I found a different cell to replace it with, but your luck may vary.
