I set my phone on the stairs and it didn't fall, I just went and picked it up a minute later and tried to turn it on but it wouldn't turn back on. It was completely normal when I set it there. I've tried to hold and press the power button and the home button but nothing will work. It was on about 50% and I tried to plug it in but nothing happened.

Hold the home and power button at the same time for 10 seconds. If no luck, try connecting to itunes and see what happens.
