The Dodge Dakota (called the Ram Dakota for its final two years of production) is a mid-size pickup truck from Chrysler’s Ram division (formerly called the Dodge Truck division). The second-generation Dakota began development in 1991, though they were not introduced until 1996 for the 1997 model year.

hvac fan not working

hvac fan not working, put in a new one and it still doesn't work. Control panel switch does not turn on the fan, but the compressore clutch is engaged.

are we talking about the blower fan? Did you check the resistor on the motor?

check the resistor under the glove box on the passanger side. I had the same problem, replaced the resistor and it worked fine for a while then the fan quit again, i replaced the blower motor and the resistor again and havent had a problem since. You may also need to get a new plug, as with mine the resistor got so hot it melted the plug.

Check your run capacitor 2.5,5,7.5, a big one might be ten uf.

If that's good check to see if it is wired into the auxiliary contacts of your compressor contactor. If it should be and isn't. Try adding it in ( if your auxiliary is normal open"

Then see if there is a fan cycling switch on the high side. Perhaps it isn't making like it should. Put a meter on the switch and check for continuity once your pressures go up.
