I had the computer shut down while we were on vacation. We must had a power outage now we can not turn the computer back on. Anything I can do to turn it on?

Try several SMC resets, press the power button for 10 seconds unplugged, then do the same while plugged and see if it makes it starts. IF this doesn't, try replacing the power cord, it's usually the problem.
