This is certainly worth attempting to fix. This could be caused by a broken pump. This is a relatively easy fix. The pump itself is made of plastic and is prone to internal damage over time. Watch this video for instructions on how to replace the pump.

Absolutely. what have you checked? I would start with making sure that the drain line is not clogged. Check the filter and the pump first. What model number is your washer?
