It suddenly went silent. Speaker not working. Whispersync not workin

Was playing an audiobook, suddenly went silent. Whispersync silent too. No speaker function at all.

Can this be repaired?

Does the device charge? Try plugging in the USB cable into a different wall outlet or USB port.
