iPhone wont charge and keeps rebooting after replacing battery

HI, so yesterday i decided i would replace my battery that wasn't holding its charge very well. Low and behold i damaged the motherboard and the lock and home button both stopped working. I took the phone to a shop today and had the motherboard replace hoping this would fix my problem. Instead a new one has a arised, this being that every 5 minutes or so my phone reboots itself and doesnt charge even though it has the symbol saying that it is charging when plugged in. Whats my new problem? is it a short circuit within my phones wiring or is the new battery i installed worse than my old one?

I let the phone die completely, and now when plugged into the charger, the apple logo loads up the dies and the cycle continues

This is the sign of a bad battery if I am correct. I saw a similar issue in an older thread here: iPhone keeps restarting after battery replacement.

Before the board replacement, did you attempt to turn on the device? Was this happening before?

had my battery replaced and all works well now however the front facing camera has now decided to stop working, oh the joys of phones

If you want the front facing camera to work, this guide here should show you how to check the connections for the camera to the board, just stop when you get to step 11.

Before diving in again, check if the proximity sensor and/or the ear speaker are working, if not then the cable needs reseating like Robert said. To check those, simply place a call to any toll free help-line. Can you hear the answering machine on the other side? When you place the phone to your ear, does it go dark? (or cover the ear speaker with your hand but the phone must NOT be in loudspeaker mode). If in doubt or afraid to break anything, have the technician who replaced the battery look at it, since this seems to have occurred after he changed your battery.
