Is it normal for the ac adapter to get hot?
Whenever the laptop is charging, the adapter is absorbing a lot of heat over time.

Vishnupriya Bakthisaran, yes they do get hot. There is a lot of power conversion going on inside the adapter. Take a look at the outside, most of them do not have any kind of vent slots etc. So all the heat will radiate to the plastic housing making it hot. It should never get to hot to touch.
