Erractic ghost / phantom touching after front camera flex placement

Hello

I have suffered this a few times now, but not sure what I am doing wrong. When changing the front camera / proximity sensor on either a 5C or 5S the phone starts to ghost click and act strangely afterwards.

Has anyone suffered this and nailed down the cause?
